Glossary
The words SignalHubFX uses, in plain terms.
| Word | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Signal | A trade idea a channel posts: symbol, buy or sell, entry, stop loss, take profits. |
| Follow-up | A later message about a signal: "move SL to entry", "close TP1", "cancel". |
| EA | Expert Advisor: the SignalHubFX program that runs inside your MetaTrader 5 and places the trades. |
| EA key | The key that ties an EA to one of your MT5 accounts. Not your MT5 password. |
| Connector | The SignalHubFX app on Windows that reads your own Telegram channels. |
| Admin channel | A channel SignalHubFX reads for everyone; you only follow it. |
| Own channel | A channel your connector reads for you. |
| Lot | The size of a trade at your broker. |
| Risk per signal | How much of your balance you'd lose if every stop loss of one signal is hit; the EA works out the lot from it. |
| Leg (TP1, TP2…) | Each take profit becomes its own position, with part of the lot. |
| Stop loss (SL) | The price where a losing trade closes. SignalHubFX never trades without one. |
| Take profit (TP) | The price where a winning trade closes. |
| Breakeven | Moving the stop loss to the entry, so the trade can't lose any more. |
| Market order | Opens now at the current price. |
| Pending order | Waits for the price: a Limit order for a better price, a Stop order for a breakout. |
| Spread | The gap between the buy and sell price at your broker at that moment. |
| Points | The broker's smallest price step; spread and distances are in points. |
| Floating P/L | Profit or loss of positions still open. |
| Equity | Balance plus floating P/L. |
| Timeline | The steps of one signal with their times, from the message to the broker. |
| Real / Demo | A real account trades real money; a demo trades practice money. |
