How a message becomes a signal

What happens between a channel's post and an order: what is skipped, how the post is read, and what is checked. It explains most "Skipped" and "unclear message" results.

  1. The connector passes it on

Your connector reads only the channels you ticked in Choose channels. Every new post, edit and reply reaches SignalHubFX within a second.

  2. A first filter

Some posts can't be a trade, so they're Skipped before anything reads them:

    • shorter than 4 characters
    • no number and no trade word (BUY, SELL, SL, TP, LIMIT, CLOSE, BREAKEVEN…), like "Good morning traders"
    • on your own channel with keywords set: none of them in the post

Replies and edits always pass: they can be orders for an earlier trade.

  3. The template reads it

Every post is read first by the template, which knows the common plain formats. It's instant and free.

    It findsLike
    The sideBUY, SELL, LONG, SHORT
The symbolEURUSD, XAUUSD or GOLD, BTCUSD, US30, NAS100…
The entrythe first price after the side, or a range like 2361-2365
The stop lossthe price after SL or Stop loss
The take profitsthe prices after TP, TP1, TP2 or Take profit
    The order typeLIMIT, STOP, NOW

It also gives a confidence: how sure it is.

    What it foundConfidence
Side, symbol, stop loss and a take profit0.90
Side, symbol and only one of stop loss or take profit0.85
    Side and symbol, nothing else0.60
Two symbols, or both BUY and SELLat most 0.60
A condition: if, wait, confirm, breaksat most 0.75
  4. The AI reads what the template isn't sure of

When the template's confidence is low, or it finds no trade at all, SignalHubFX's AI reads the post instead, when it's switched on. The AI understands loose writing, like "gold sell kori 4165 er upore, sl 4170", and gives its own confidence. If the AI isn't available, the template's reading stands.

  5. What kind of post it is

    KindWhenWhat happens
A new signalA side, a symbol and pricesA signal is made
A follow-upA reply, or words like close, breakeven, move SL, close TP1, without new pricesYour open trades from that signal move their SL or close
An editAn earlier post was changedNew SL or TP go to the open trades; a new side or symbol is never traded
    Not a signalNone of theseSkipped
  6. Safety checks

A new signal must pass these, or it's Rejected with the reason:

    • confidence at least 0.8 (an unclear message isn't traded on a guess)
    • the post isn't older than a minute
    • stop loss on the right side (below the entry for BUY, above for SELL), take profits too
    • a sensible stop loss distance
  7. Your rules, then your EA

The signal appears on Signals. For each account the channel sends to, your Trade Rules make the order: lot size, how many TPs, limits. Your EA then checks the live price and spread and opens the trades.

Read wrong?

If a post was read wrong (a wrong price, a signal that was skipped, a follow-up taken as a new signal), open the signal and press Read wrong? Report it, or Read wrong? next to the post on the channel's messages page. SignalHubFX adds the right reading to its test set, so both readers are checked against it from then on. Trades already made aren't changed.

Where to look

  • Every post and how it was read: Channels → a channel → messages.
  • One signal's whole path: open it on Signals, under How it was read and the timeline.
